The portal is targeted at users who want to inform themselves about flying and traveling on the online platform and who also want to use interactive services, such as posting their own contributions, for example texts and photos in the teens area. The prerequisite to doing so is that the user may only upload texts and photos to which he or she owns the rights. This means that texts that are shared should normally be written by the user her/himself and have taken the photos her/himself. Furthermore, any people that can be recognized in the photos should agree that their images can be uploaded to the Lufthansa family portal.
For some of the services offered, such as the use of or participation in promotions, special conditions are applied by Lufthansa. Users are obligated to check the relevant information and conditions, especially before using these services.

Lufthansa is also not liable for damages outside its own area of responsibility that may be caused, for example, by Internet access, telephone cables, servers, and other third-party devices.
Lufthansa is not liable for any violations of rights, data loss, access problems, and other damage caused by users or third parties that can be traced back to the conduct of users of the Lufthansa family portal.
Lufthansa is not liable for damage that can be traced back to system errors, force majeure, or external influences. External influences refers in particular to unauthorized access by hackers and other third parties.
With regard to contractual and non-contractual claims against Lufthansa, Lufthansa is liable for willfully and grossly negligent violation of obligations in respect to the user. For slight negligence, Lufthansa is only liable in the case of injury to life, limb, or health as well as in the case of an infringement of material contractual obligations. In the case of a slightly negligent violation of a contractual obligation, Lufthansa is only liable to the extent of damages that are typically foreseeable. Essential contractual obligations are obligations whose fulfillment enables the proper implementation of the contract in the first place and upon the fulfillment of which the contractual partner regularly relies. This does not apply in the case of liability according to German Product Liability Law. The limitation of liability in clauses 2 to 4 also applies to violation of obligations on the part of the legal representatives or agents of Lufthansa.

The Lufthansa family portal is aimed at private users. Commercial use of the Lufthansa family portal is not permitted. Lufthansa also specifies rules regarding conduct in the members’ area to which users must adhere. These rules apply in particular to interactive services.
The ability to upload personal contributions is aimed at users who are looking to exchange information in an interactive manner and who, for example, write a travel report and upload or transmit it for this purpose. This means that any contributions that the user uploads or transmits that are not intended for this purpose are not permitted. This includes purely commercial content and chain spam letters.
Users may also not write, upload, or transmit any texts that infringe legal requirements and/or are grossly offensive. This includes texts with the following content:
Uploading or transmitting texts with incorrect or manipulated sender or address data is not permitted.
These rules also apply to other materials such as photos that the user posts in the Lufthansa family portal either directly or via the editorial team. If these materials are the work of the user in the sense of copyright law, then by uploading them or performing a similar action, users demonstrate their agreement for such materials to be published on the Lufthansa family portal, for example as illustrative materials or as an accompanying image to a discussion topic.
Lufthansa reserves the right to remove contributions, such as uploaded texts and/or images and/or videos that violate the code of conduct, from the website.
The services provided by Lufthansa on the Lufthansa family portal grant access to copyright-protected material such as music, images, videos, editorial contributions, games, and other protected materials.
Lufthansa exercises virtual house rights on the Lufthansa family portal. Lufthansa therefore reserves the right to, for example, remove content from the website at any time including without the prior agreement of users. This is particularly the case if the content has been uploaded in violation of the code of conduct, the content violates legal regulations, the content is offensive or hostile or violates good morals, or third parties assert a claim against Lufthansa that the content is unlawful. Lufthansa also retains the right to exclude users who post such content, in particular unlawful content or content that falls into the above-listed categories from using the whole service or individual functionalities from the first time they post such content.
